Installation in FS2000:

1. Unpack/extract the contents of the main zip-file into FS2000's Aircraft folder.

Panel / Sound:

Unfortunately, there isn't any suitable panel or sound till now. We recommend therefore a classic prop-panel/ sound (for example of the DC 4; this can be loaded at www.SurClaro).

Award

This aircraft is certified with the title:

***********************
authentic-EDDI-aircraft
***********************

FS-models are certified as authentic-EDDI-aircrafts when their presence on Berlin-Tempelhof Central Airport can be rectified by photographs or other documents. The main evidence is the registration number of the aircraft. In case we have expressive pictured documents, comparisons of the originals and the FS-models are made with regard to equalness and differences.

In case an FS-model differs significantly from the original, it will not gain a certificate. Nevertheless, it may have happened that among the aeroplanes without a certificate one or even more landed in Tempelhof.

In case precise data about the flights of this certificated plane's original are available, those are provided thereafter.

The Avro York of Skyways of London with registration G-AMFB was used in Tempelhof at the end of the fifties according to photographic documents.

On the plane

The Avro York first flew on July 5 1942, and was produced as a transport version of the Lancaster bomber, using the same power-plants, undercarriage, mainplanes, and tail assembly. When production ceased in April 1948, 253 Yorks had been build, including Mr. (later Sir) Winston Churchill's "Ascalon" LV633, which was used as a wartime flying conference room.

During the 1948/49 Berlin Airlift half of the RAF sorties were in Yorks (the were used to Gatow). After the blockade many of the RAF Yorks found their way onto the British register.

The Avro York was also used in Tempelhof at the end of the fifties by different airlines like Skyways of London, Air Charter Ltd. and Dan-Air London.

VISIT FS-EDDI

the page for all who take an interest in Berlin-Tempelhof Central Airport and the Microsoft flight simulator. Mainly, we want to put those FS-aircraft-models together and offer them for downloading that were on duty at Tempelhof (EDDI former EDBB). In this context we are offering facts and figures on the history of the airport, its airlines and the aircrafts they ran.
